Evaluation of the effectiveness of policies related to the sustainability of mega sports events (2015)
This paper sheds light on policies that are created to ensure the sustainability of Mega Sports Events. By conducting a case study of the FIFA World Cup in 2006 in Germany, the paper reconstructs the respective policy goals and their realization measures and tries to evaluate their impacts by considering intervening factors. All in all, the paper concludes that the policies are indeed supportive to the environment, but there is still much room for improvement in the future.
