Thematic network project AEHESIS (2006)

report of the third year

Three years ago, the ERASMUS Thematic Network project was started in order to ‘align a European Higher Education Structure in Sport Science’. Since the start at 1st of October 2003, the project partners worked continuously to fulfil this aim. All in all ffteen Project Management Group Meetings, several Area Group Meetings in the four sectors (‘Sport Coaching’, ‘Physical Education’, ‘Health and Fitness’ and ‘Sport Management’) and three Conferences were organised. The working process was conducted with several discussions about the activities and the outcomes of this project – always bearing in mind the Bologna Declaration and the Lisbon objectives as well as the related Education and Training Agenda 2010 and the European Qualifcation Framework (EQF). This report shows where we are in achieving the aims and objectives and describes the main results of the work. The general intention of the project is to improve the relations between education and the professional areas. Therefore, we developed different tools and model curriculum structures in each sector. The main focus of the project is to produce new collective standards and references for curricula in the sport sector.
