the impact of physical activity on wellbeing, mental health awareness week 2013

This report provides an overview of current research into the impact of physical activity on mental health. It looks as a range of components of mental health including mood, stress, self-esteem and anxiety; as well as considering some specific mental health conditions. Illustrated with real-life case studies, the report also provides practical suggestions for increasing physical activity levels. The theme for Mental Health Awareness Week 2013 is physical activity and exercise, highlighting the impact they have on mental health and wellbeing.
