Leisure (1970)

Auteur(s): Kenneth Roberts

This book endeavours to clarify the role that leisure plays in contemporary society. Information about the amounts of free time available to various sections of the public and the uses to which it is put is summarised; the relationships of leisure to work, social class, the family and community life are explored, and the organisation of the leisure industries discussed. Conclusions are drawn about the extent to which leisure influences other areas of social life, and the ways in which leisure can be a source of social problems are examined.
