meanings and values in people's lives

Auteur(s): Sheila Scraton

The global theme of the LSA/VVS Conference ‘Accelerating Leisure? Leisure, Time and Space in a Transitory Society’ (September, 1996) was transformation in the use of time and space in leisure. Over 80 conference presentations represented the multi-disciplinarity of leisure studies with work from various disciplines such as sociology, economics, philosophy, law, environmental science, anthropology and within a range of contexts, for example: sport, tourism, media, countryside, policy, management. This collection of papers is one of four volumes, containing 45 papers in total, that has been collated and developed from the conference presentations.
