Nature and extent of sports accidents and injuries (1985)

The Working Group’s purpose in compiling this report is to bring together all currently available research material, most notably epidemiological data, so as to acquire an overview of the injuries problem. It is set out as follows: Chapter 2 contains data on the participation in sport in the Netherlands; Chapter 3 provides an analysis of the injuries phenomenon in terms of its magnitude, the age and sex of the injured, the nature and location of the injuries, and injuries occurring in specific types of sport; Chapter 4 sets out the Group’s conclusions; and Chapter 5 lists the Group’s recommendations.
