Off road cycling trail guide (1992)
a handbook for mountain bikers, family cyclists & all ramblers on two wheels
Cycling offroad in traffic free conditions has gained widespread popular appeal with the advent of the wide tyred, multi geared mountain bike. Some 5 million mountain bikes have been sold in the U.K since the mid 1980’s and it is estimated that at least 50 percent of these are used offroad – and some 10 percent on a regular basis. However, finding out where to ride legally and safely has until now posed real problems – hence the Offroad Cycling Trail Guide. The guide has been compiled by Colin Palmer, who has developed a comprehensive knowledge of offroad routes in his role as the Access & Rights of Way Director of the British Mountainbike Federation.
